Extended Embrace: Community as Family

In the wake of family separation and orphanhood, the role of extended family and community in Gaza becomes a beacon of hope and resilience. Amidst the rubble of lost homes and shattered lives, these larger familial networks offer a unique blend of emotional support, cultural continuity, and collective wisdom. They stand as pillars in a society constantly navigating the challenges of the genocide, transforming personal loss into communal strength. Here, in the alleys and gatherings, orphaned children find new guardians in neighbors, and aunts and uncles become surrogate parents, weaving a tapestry of care that transcends biological ties.
